Abil Bradshaw holds a Master of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University and a Bachelor of Art in Drama from the University of Washington. She is a successful educator, public speaker, and is talented at motivating individuals on a personal and entertaining level to eat for a healthy longevity. Abil is a solo performer who speaks and performs for diverse groups on many topics.

Abil’s social commentary on health in America formed over the duration of her long life, sometimes under extreme conditions. In the 1970’s she was in her late teens when she hitchhiked across the United States with nothing more than a backpack, a jar of peanut butter, and a desire to learn about life. Her lust for living in unconventional ways continued as she began her life as a worker. She has worked as a roust-about on a floating, gas-drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico, as a deck-hand on salmon-fishing boats in the Gulf of Alaska, and as a union laborer on high-rise office buildings. As a woman working in male-dominated professions, Abil has learned as much about people as she has about hard work.

Abil completed a Bachelor’s degree in Drama in 1992. She designed costumes for Seattle-area theatres for several years. After meeting the love of her life, a chef named Melissa, Abil applied her design skills to a new market: chef clothing. She went on a buying trip to New York City and came back with lovely white brocades, and Jacquards. Her chef coats are extremely beautiful as well as durable, and have been worn by some of Seattle’s celebrity chefs, including Kathy Casey, Lisa Dupar, and Bruce Naftaly.

Abil took a break from running a business to work for Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, at The Pike Brewing Company as their bottling-line supervisor for 6 years. Working at the Pike has been an important part of Abil's life. The company retirement plan afforded her a cushion on which to pursue her Masters degree. As a brewery worker or as a nutritionist, Abil has enjoyed some of the best beer in the country. Thank you, Charles and Rose Ann.

Since graduating from Bastyr University Abil has continued to educate herself in the field of disease-prevention. Abil's nutritional focus is on an aggressive approach to the prevention of nutritionally-based chronic diseases and conditions, such as heart-disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, obesity, stroke, osteoporosis, and certain cancers. Prevention of these life-altering conditions through diet and lifestyle changes naturally address other important concerns, such as healthy longevity, weight-management, fertility, everyday vitality, and stress reduction.Come see this show and be inspired to treat yourself like the vital, intelligent animal that you are.
